Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)

Welcome to The Fogarty Center’s EVV information page!

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV), is a system that uses technology to track and document the time and details of in-home care services you receive, ensuring you are getting the proper care by verifying when caregivers arrive and leave your home, EVV is a way to monitor that the services you are receiving are actually being provided to you by your caregiver.

EVV is a federally mandated policy and is required for all clients who use Self-Directed programs within the State of Rhode Island.

Important Facts:

  1. If the employee lives in the SAME house/apartment building as YOU, s/he does NOT have to complete EVV, just a timesheet.
  2. All other employees that do not live in the home MUST complete EVV.
  3. EVV does not replace your payroll responsibilities. Think of EVV as a timeclock that simply records visit start and end times. You must still complete your payroll as you do now.
