Chief Executive Officer
Heather Alge joined The Fogarty Center in 2008 (then known as Ocean State Community Resources) as a Coordinator and Direct Support Professional in the Children’s Department. Over the years, she advanced through the organization, transitioning to the Finance Department before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2021. In 2025, following the retirement of longtime CEO David Reiss, Heather was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
Her experience across multiple departments has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the organization and a strong commitment to optimizing resources in support of its mission. Heather values open communication, a shared organizational vision, and a culture of innovation. As she leads The Fogarty Center into its next chapter, she remains dedicated to preserving the traditions that have shaped the agency’s success while thoughtfully guiding its continued growth and evolution.
